Instructions in this typeface are designed to be read by the teacher – not the student. The assumption is that teachers will use their own words and check the understanding before leaving them to do the work.
Words in this blue text are ‘look and say words’ designed to be read to the student. They are not expected to read them themselves. Grey items provide additional clues to the students.
NOTE: There is usually more than one sheet for each sound or topic.
Some exercises require students to write sentences on the work sheets.
Teachers may prefer to provide paper for those exercises and help the students build a writing book.
A colour coded system is embedded – first time words in whole series are highlighted blue.
Teachers work from the colour version whilst students work on a black and white version (as they will appear in reproductions).
