East Riding of Yorkshire
As you are aware, we carried out extensive research into the effectiveness of Lexia Reading in 6 schools last year, with Year 3 and 4 pupils.
The result was:
- An average gain in reading age of 10 months in the 20 weeks of the research;
- No pupil making less than 5 months progress;
- Some pupils made as much as 18 months progress in 20 week
- Teacher and pupils found the software easy to use and very reliable.
Our results were validated by an independent psychologist and as a result we are pleased to advise schools to purchase Lexia as an important element in the drive to raise reading standards.
We are now looking to match the research with Lexia, with Year 1 and 2 struggling readers.
